Flag of China

This is the Flag of the People's Republic of China which was adopted in Septemper, 1949 (the day of the founding of the People's Republic of China). Chinese flag has two basic color, red background and gold-yellow stars. In the uper left , there are five stars. The bigger one represents the leadership of the Communist of Party of China and it is arounded by four small stars that represent the chinese peopler or four occupations most esteemed by the Communist Party of China, which are farmers, workers, teachers, and soldiers. An interpretation under a more historical context is the four stars represent the traditional four categories of the people in the state, which are Workers (gong, 工), Farmers (nong, 农), Intellectual (shi, 士), and Businessmen (shang, 商) By the way, our flag is flew on Tian'anmen Square which is a historical place in Beijing, and our flag-raising ceremony is very solemn and awe-inspiring. It will be raised along with the sun-raising every morning at Tian' an Men Square.

This is Flag of Republic of China. There are A red field, with a blue canton containing a 12-ray white sun. This flag flew over Mainland China until 1949, and is presently flown in Taiwan, and other islands under then control of ROC. This flag is used from 1928. Unfortunately, there is still a current big problem between China and Taiwan.

  1. This was really interesting. I have never heard about the history of the Chinese flag, or of the Taiwanese one.
    Thank you for sharing.
